Things I have learnt & things I can't do...

I am enjoying watching "Project Runway Australia" (it's on Foxtel, however I am sourcing mine from torrents). I'm enjoying it enough to have downloaded series 4 of Project Runway from the US also - which was almost 6 gig but it came down in a few days. It's highly entertaining.

In other (baby) related news - here are some things I have learnt thus far:

  • Yes it is possible to feel nauseous and hungry at the same time.
  • Yes it is possible to want to cry manically and laugh hysterically at the same time.
Well, that about sums up what I have learnt.

My appetite is dead and I can only eat about half as much as I used to. This is very frustrating because, on odd occasion, I am really really hungry and want to eat more than I physically can. And that never ends well. I also have to have half a cup of milk with Milo every morning before I get up. Why? A few mornings I have felt grand and wonderful and then suddenly I'm vomiting bile. AND BILE IS GROSS. Milo is much nicer to vomit than bile.
(luckily the Milo seems to halt the vomiting)

Overall I feel pretty good - just kind of shithouse in a non-identifiable way.
Everyone keeps saying that I should start to feel better soon, and I really think I might have improved in the last week or so. Fingers crossed.

As all baby boomers will be aware - Billy Joel is coming to Melbourne in November. Last night Stef's dad (proud baby boomer) asked us if we would like to go with him.

I'm afraid that being 7.5 months pregnant with twins and sitting in a crappy plastic chair 1km away from a public toilet really is not for me. I do like the odd Billy Joel song but much prefer them in the karaoke, comfy sofa, nearby toilet, non-pregnant kind of setting.

Sorry Billy Joel.

Can you believe there are two of them?? I CANNOT!

In case you're not in the loop (or on facebook) - Stef and I have some exciting news!

We are having a baby!

Well, actually, I am lying.

We are having two babies!

I know, I know, it's crazy. It's taken me a whole week to get over the fact that there are two!

Last Monday we had our first hospital appointment (it's so strange that when having a baby no-one said to me "Yes! You are having a baby!" for the first 12 weeks and I was kind of left to do my own thing). I wanted proof, so that on Monday when the midwife said:

"Have you had an ultrasound yet?"
"No!"

"Would you like one today?"
"YESSSSSSS!"

So after 45 mins of talking to the midwife (still blissfully unaware that there wasn't just one baby) we got to have our first ultrasound done. It wasn't immediately obvious that there were two babies - and I probably wouldn't have even known if they hadn't zoomed in and shown me. The midwife and the sonographer (and sonographer trainee?) were all watching - along with Stef (of course). I wish I could say there was a defining moment when someone yelled out "Holy Cow, there are two babies!" -- but it didn't happen exactly like that.

The sonographer explained that they usually check for multiples and then everyone was quiet.

The midwife said "Oh!" quite loudly and we started saying "What? What? What?". Then to be honest I don't even really remember what anyone said because once they had confirmed that there were two, I was beyond functioning. I was very surprised and just kept laughing and laughing. Lucky I was lying down.

So it's all happening. They are due in January - but more than likely will be early, as twins seem to be. When I think that we might have two babies by Christmas I am pretty, still, non-believing.

Here's a pic...

So I guess that I will probably now turn into what I dislike - baby bloggers.

Ranty Big Brother Panties

I have watched Big Brother a few times and I just cannot stand some of the people on that show! A lot of them are moronic idiots who embarrass me more than they entertain me. I usually like crap like that (I missed out on a big chunk of reality TV early this century, so sometimes I find it quite entertaining) - but seriously... I guess my biggest gripe is with Brigitte. I'm so sick of her idiocy. That's about it, I could go on, but it's all rubbish.

Oh, and Channel 10 HD has 2 hours of Neighbours recaps on Sunday afternoons!!!

(shutup, I can hate Big Brother and love Neighbours, nothing wrong with that!)

Bobo has a new friend!

Last week we bought a new kitten, Rusty! He's very handsome!

We were worried that he wouldn't get along with Bobo (or vice versa) but he walked straight up to Bobo and gave him a big headbutt.... and now they are best buddies.
