- Jan 1st: chickenpox appear (on an aeroplane from Perth > Melbourne)
- Jan 2nd: "Umm, does it look like I have chickenpox?"
- Jan 3rd: Doctor: "No, not chickenpox"
- Jan 5th: Mother: "OMG! Chickenpox!" - Doctor: "OK, maybe it's chickenpox"
- Get extra 2 weeks in Australia - Doctor writes medical certificate saying I cannot fly back to Japan. Hoorah, extra holiday time!
- March: pack up Japanese apartment, get ready to come home, finish work, bye-bye Kurume forever:
- March 28th: HOME! Thank GOD! Tell Stef I'm coming back a day later than I actually am. Meet him in city to surprise him. Get most of my hair cut off!
- April: Stef has arranged secret holiday. I discover we are off to Thailand.
- April 19th: Fly to Thailand (via Darwin).
- April 20th: Have awesome dinner in Sirocco restaurant Bangkok (63rd floor, AMAZING!). Stef proposes!!!! I cry. A lot!! Stef informs me that the wedding is in FIVE DAYS TIME in Phuket! WHAT?? Awesome!!
- April 25th: Wedding day! Go to Phuket city hall and get married for $2.85 at 9.30am. Comeback to hotel and have awesome 5hr massage package at spa (highlights include having a naked cold bath with Stef - bath has rose petals in it - extremely nice on such a stinking hot day). Fall asleep during massage.
At 5pm have wedding ceremony in grounds of hotel with photographer and celebrant.
- May: Move house (from Melbourne). Eat two pork rolls and burn arm with oven cleaner*.
- Late May/June: Umm.. ahh... it's possible I might be pregnant. Oh yes, I am! Also buy a new kitten, Rusty.
- June 30th: Ultrasound confirms pregnancy and in fact shows us we're having two babies (* = possibly linked? Haha, just kidding)!
- July: Still in shock. Laugh a lot when we think of twins.
- August: I freak out and think we need a house ready for a family. We look for houses.
Am convinced that one (if not both) babies, are girls. WRONG! Two boys! - September: Find awesome house and buy it! Cannot believe we are home owners!
- October: Gestational diabetes fun times. Cannot eat much at all. Cry a lot when I cannot eat yummy things. Look at photos of cupcakes on Flickr. Often. Have to take insulin. Finally start feeling pregnant and possibly look a little pregnant.
- November: Look pregnant! Belly button almost flat. Feel OK during the day but shit at night. Have to go to the toilet every 2 hours.
It's been pretty crazy. But it's been awesomely fun and I wouldn't change a thing for the world!

I seriously heart Stef for the surprise wedding (love the pic!) What a crazy year you have had. Next year will be crazier times TWO!
i want to know what else????????
Wow, it has been crazy! So much good stuff happening (ok, maybe not the chicken pox and the g.d., but positives came out of those situations). Next year will be even more eventful and awesome!
Wow.... make my year look pretty darn boring :)
far out!
maximum major life events in one year award = yours.
the whole wedding thing is amazing.
I should have added a disclaimer that this year has been 10000000 x crazier than the average year in my life - but it's been pretty cool.
The whole proposal/wedding thing was pretty awesome. I always wanted to elope!
